Teenage pilot makes emergency touchdown close to busy freeway in California

(CNN) — A teenage pilot flying a single-engine aircraft with a number of relations on board made an emergency touchdown close to a two-lane freeway within the San Bernardino Nationwide Forest in California on Monday.

“We’re coming by the go and I hear a growth after which I lose all my engine energy,” pilot Brock Peters, 18, instructed CNN affiliate KCBS/KCAL in an interview. He landed the aircraft on a frontage highway within the Cajon Cross, KCBS/KCAL studies.

The Federal Aviation Administration instructed CNN a Piper PA-28 with 4 folks on board landed shortly earlier than 10 a.m. native time Monday on Cajon Boulevard.

The FAA and NTSB will examine.

Peters, who obtained his pilots license 4 months in the past, instructed KCBS/KCAL that he plans to be again within the cockpit subsequent week.
